What is a volume license?
The volume licenses are suited for company use. They have extended user rights, which means that one user can work with the software on multiple devices. Also, the products can be activated on large amount of devices at the same time by automated software activation. These licenses are compatible with Remote Desktop Services and can be easily managed by a Volume Activation Management Tool.

What is the difference between volume and retail license?
Some of our products like Office 2016 Home and Student are a retail license and some like Office 2016 Professional Plus are a volume license. The main difference is, that the volume licenses are suited for company use while the retail licenses are aimed at casual users.
The retail license can be used only on one device at any one time, but it can be installed, re-installed, or uninstalled as many times as you want. Once you buy this license, it’s yours forever.
