This simple guide shows you how to find out the architecture of your Windows or macOS.
Step-by-step guide
- Click the Start icon in the bottom left corner of your screen and type “System”. Once the result shows up, click it.
- The System menu will open directly on the About section (or you can navigate to it if it doesn’t). There, under System type you can find the bit architecture of your device.
- Go to the Apple icon and select “About this Mac”.
- Look below the operating system version and computer model name – you will see your processor name. If the name says Intel Core Solo or Intel Core Duo, it’s 32-bit only. Otherwise, the architecture of your computer is 64-bit.
